1. What inspires you to dress how you dress?
My drag is inspired by punk, goth, a lot of music, weird fashion, Halloween, the supernatural, Divine and John Waters’ movies.
2. What do you love about dressing this way?
My clothes are tight and sexy and make me feel like royalty. I love the constriction of the corset, multiple nylons and high heels. It’s like a second skin and armor. I like to try ugly clothes as well to see what I can rock. Confidence compensates ugly drag, hahah!
3 do you consider yourself a free spirit?
No. Not free enough. But I try to and that’s why I do drag. I’ve set my course for freedom, but there is so much useless negative patterns, traditions and values that have been indoctrinated into all of us in Western society that it’s really challenging, at least for me, to unlearn all of that, to feel and be free.
4. What advice do you have for other people who want to stand out and be themselves but might not have the courage to go for it?
Give it a shot. If you wanna do a role or a character you fantasize about, but feel uncertain to reveal your alias, go to a costume party dressed as whatever tickles you right. It’s a safe way to try on your second self, because everyone (or most people) come dressed up anyhow. Less pressure! If that goes well, next time you bring it at ANY party. Baby steps build your confidence! Or find like- minded people to express yourself with.
